A GROUP of Malton singers is holding a special concert this weekend to mark ten years of singing for good causes.

Malton District Male Voice Choir’s Tenth Anniversary Concert is taking place in St Michael’s Church in Malton Market Place on Saturday September 16, at 7.30 pm and involves special instrumental and musical solo performances.

Since its founding in 2007, the choir has sung its way across Ryedale and North Yorkshire and helped many groups raise thousands of pounds for good causes.

Choir Chairman Tom Todd said: “It’s been an exhilarating and rewarding journey so far and we hope it will continue as long as there are people who want to join us and groups who want to hear us sing”.

Choir Musical Director Viv Wilcock added: “We may be small but we make a big sound and this is a great advantage in small halls and churches. It has also given us formidable performing experience which is now much in demand – particularly for weddings.

Tickets for the Anniversary Concert cost £7.00 and include interval refreshments. They are available on the door.

The choir meets most Monday evenings in the Baptist Church Hall next to Yates’ store. For details or to book the choir for your event call Secretary David Ackroyd on 01944 758693, or Chairman Tom Todd on 01653 692362.
