THE CREATORS of last year’s acclaimed Cinderella return to the De Grey Ballroom in York with a new storytelling performance to ignite the imagination, Puss in Boots.

Join down at heel Jack and his Puss in Boots as they struggle to improve their fortunes in this classic adventure tale.

The production’s comic retelling spans the intimate to the epic, from intricate shadow puppetry to truly ogre-sized puppets with the audience will be so close to the action they will feel part of the funny and moving story.

“It’s like the cosiest of fireside tales but with something to stimulate sight, sound and emotion,” said Susanna Meese from TellingTales.

“Of course, there are all the moments you’d expect and a marvellous ‘happy ever after’ feeling.”

TongueTied Theatre, an Associate Company of York Theatre Royal, was formed in 2009 by Co-Artistic Directors Lizzie Wiggs, who performs in the show, and Kyle Davies, who directs.

They met whilst training in Paris at the internationally renowned L’Ecole Jacques Lecoq. Their work has been seen in the United States, Canada, France, Japan and China.

Telling Tales is a storytelling company based in Yorkshire and run by Susanna Meese. She trained as an actor at Bretton Hall College and has spent the last twenty years working as an actor, storyteller, facilitator, writer and director.
