NEVER mind reindeers and robins, this December a former seahorse will be visiting Nunnington Hall.

Chris Helme, former frontman of the Seahorses, will be performing in the intimate surroundings on Friday, December 5.

Chris, who first rose to prominence as the frontman of John Squire’s post-Stone Roses band The Seahorses, released his most recent solo album, The Rookery, in August 2012.

As part of this year’s tour, Chris brings songs from this highly- acclaimed album, as well as a selection of classic favourites.

Still rightfully remembered for the anthemic Britpop classics Love Is the Law and Blinded by The Sun, Chris’s musical style has been compared to greats such as The Coral and Led Zeppelin.

Nunnington Hall will be fully decorated for Christmas and offer a unique atmosphere in which to enjoy this special performance.

James Etherington, visitor experience manager at Nunnington Hall, said: “We’re very excited that Chris will be continuing the tradition of stunning musical events with the National Trust, here at Nunnington Hall. The intimate setting of the oak-panelled Stone Hall will be the perfect accompaniment to Chris’ soulful and acoustic melodies.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience a live performance, in an historic venue, from one of Yorkshire’s most talented singer-songwriters.”

Booking is essential and doors open at 7.15pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £12 and are available by phoning 01439 748283 or emailing nunningtonhall@nationaltrust.org.uk
