SOME of the country’s biggest tribute acts will be appearing at the first Filey Fake Festival on Saturday.

Headlining the event at Filey Brigg Country Park will be The Fillers, tribute to The Killers, who travel across the world delivering their stage show.

Front man Trevor Hurley also performs in an original band in America that is made up of session musicians from The Killers called Most Thieves.

Trevor said: “It is a little strange imitating someone who you actually know and have had conversations with about mimicking them.

“It is a great job to have though as it enables me to travel all over, something which I love doing.

“Fake Festivals is a great concept, and we always love being part of the tour. It’s a great chance for us to perform in the UK and to also catch up with friends from the other tribute bands too. The Fake Festivals tour has gone from strength to strength each year, and this year with the Big Fake Festival, it’s guaranteed to be a winner.”

Andrew Greetham, from Fake Festival, said: “The atmosphere is always electric at Fake Festivals, and this one will be no different.

“This will be our first time at Filey, and we can’t wait to get the tent rocking. It’s a great opportunity to see some of your favourite bands without the high price tag or having to travel too far.”

Performing alongside The Fillers will also be the Four Fighters and Kings of Lyon, as well as five local support bands.

“Not only will festival-goers be able to see their favourite bands perform, but they will also have a chance to meet them as they wander around the marquee,” said Andrew. “Fake Festivals really does get you closer to the music and the people.”

Advance tickets are £20 for adults, £10 for 10 to 17 year olds and £50 for a family ticket, with under nines free.
