A BITING, witty modern comedy from the BAFTA award-winning writer of Bouncers, Perfect Pitch and The Debt Collectors is heading to the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough on April 7 to 8.

Produced by The John Godber Company and Theatre Royal Wakefield, Teechers, the contemporary classic by John Godber, puts the education system under hilarious scrutiny, examining themes and issues that are still relevant today.

Join Gail, Hobby and Salty, three fifth form students who, through their end of term play, tell the hilarious story of an idealistic new teacher in his perilous first days inside a comprehensive school.

The three cast members effortlessly transform into a vast array of other characters including teachers, dinner ladies, students, an obstructive caretaker and of course, the school bully.

Amy Thompson returns to the Scarborough stage following her appearance at the SJT last year as Kim Johnson in Godber’s Muddy Cows. Performing alongside are Tupele Dorgu, well known for playing Kelly Crabtree in Coronation Street and Peter Macmillan who played Neil Hemmingway in Emmerdale.

Teechers is at the SJT on Monday, April 7 at 7.30pm and Tuesday, April 8 at 1.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets, priced from £10 to £21.50, are available from the Box Office on 01723 370541 and online at www.sjt.uk.com
