A FEMALE six-piece instrumental group will be appearing at the Milton Rooms, in Malton, on Friday, April 4.

Raven, who are based in Scarborough, blend haunting harmonies, ethereal melodies and sassy rhythms to take audiences on a journey through a fusion of sounds, such as choral, salsa and folk.

The band play a variety of instruments, including keyboard, penny whistles, accordion, guitars, flute, congas, ukulele, recorders and percussion, and have produced six CDs.

Their extensive gig list includes a wide array of venues and events, having featured at Coastival and Filey Festival, the Stephen Joseph Theatre, in Scarborough, Selby Abbey and Castle Howard.

Raven have also been specially commissioned to produce an original soundtrack for Orpheus The Mariner, a huge community project in Scarborough that will feature in this year’s Coastival event.

Tickets to see the band at the Milton Rooms are £8 (£7 for concessions) and are available from Malton Tourist Information Centre, inside Malton Library, or by calling 01653 600048.
