ONE of the UK’s most popular girl bands, Little Mix will take to the stage at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday, July 27, with special guests Scouting for Girls.

Since being crowned winners of The X Factor at the end of 2011, Little Mix have sold more than three million singles and two million albums worldwide.

A second UK number one in September 2012, with their hit,Wings, was followed in June last year by the band’s album, DNA.

DNA became the highest debut ever for a British female group’s first album, charting at number four.

In just over two years band members Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh- Anne have gone from obscurity to being one of the best-known girl-bands, a steep trajectory that hit new heights last autumn with the release of their hit single Move and second album, Salute in November.

Little Mix will have Scouting For Girls, one of the biggest pop bands in the world, as their special guests at the Scarborough performance.

Band members Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard have, over the course of four top 10 albums, made the journey from playing pubs in Harrow and Ruislip to headlining Wembley Arena.

Scouting For Girls have achieved more than two million record sales, four Brit Award nominations, an Ivor Novello nomination and four top-10 singles.

Tickets for the event, priced at £35, are available from the tourism bureau by phoning 01723 383636.
