THE Yard in Malton has launched a new authentic, grill food concept called Grill & Grind.

The venue is combining the new, authentic grill food with its popular live, local music entertainment and introducing other new products, such as a good choice of cocktails and a children’s menu.

Chef Kevin Mitchinson has focused on freshness, flavour and simple but creative presentation.

Kevin said: “This is an exciting time to be at the Yard Malton, with the new Grill & Grind concept. We have a huge barbecue flame, chargrill with lava rocks and a smoking chip of the week. The first being ‘Jack Daniels’, made from the original whisky barrels.

"It has also been great meeting local suppliers to source local fresh produce to compile the menu.”

The official launch was attended by key local businesses and regular customers to The Yard who sampled mini-sized samples of some of the dishes, including burgers, chicken and chorizo skewers, Halloumi and Mediterranean vegetable skewers and corn on the cob.

General manager Amy Milner said:“We have had some great feedback on the new concept and menu since we launched and a fantastic turn out for our VIP event last week and would like to thank the local community and media for their support.

"This is a really exciting time for us, not only have we given the menu a complete overhaul but we have given the interior décor a bit of a revamp and look forward to welcoming people to sample the new look and menu.”
