THE owners of the award-winning Copper Horse in Seamer, near Scarborough, are celebrating their 10th anniversary.

Originally a farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, it became a pub in the 1930s and was called The White Horse, after the name of the lane running alongside it.

When the pub was bought by England Rugby International and Scarborough bookmaker, Leonard Price Stephens it was re-named The Copper Horse, after a racehorse. It was taken over by the Thomas family in 2005.

The restaurant is now owned by local businessman and theatre producer, Nick Thomas and wife Sandra, who run the Mayfield and are also the new owners of The Plough, in Scalby, which opens this autumn.

They have created a unique theatrical setting in the restaurant with an array of stage and screen memorabilia dating back to the 1950s, which Nick has collected from his years in the business

To mark the 10th birthday, The Copper Horse is celebrating with a new lunch and dinner menu, designed around their most iconic Dishes of the Decade.

Diners can also join in the celebrations by voting for your favourite Dish of the Decade and have the opportunity of winning a three course meal for two at The Copper Horse along with a selection of other fantastic prizes.

The Copper Horse is offering its diners a celebratory 10 per cent discount off their total food bill for lunch and dinner on the 10th of each month from June to October 4.
