FITZWILLIAM Malton Estate has been accepted as a member of Deliciouslyorkshire thanks to the redevelopment and renovation of a new food hub at the town’s Talbot Yard.

The yard, which includes six food production units, is located opposite the award-winning Talbot Hotel, and was officially opened last October and the first two food producers are due to move in next month.

Tobias Burckhardt, surveyor for the Estate, said: “We are delighted to become members of Deliciouslyorkshire. We hope to use the membership to mentor new businesses, talking them through the pitfalls of leasing a production space, improve networking with food businesses and continue to grow Malton’s food agenda profile. Next month we welcome the first tenants at Talbot Yard – a new ice cream gelato company and a fishcake and Scotch egg maker with 20 years of trading history.”

Three out of the six units are still available with flexible terms and rents ranging from around £480 a month to £1,000 a month.”

Deliciouslyorkshire, which is a not for profit organisation, provides vital support to a diverse range of food and beverage producers, retailers and distinguished hospitality operators in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

During the last decade, Deliciouslyorkshire has become a well-recognised brand for the food sector.

Heather Perry, director of Deliciouslyorkshire, said: “It is great to welcome such a forward thinking foodie Estate to our membership and we look forward to working with them.”
