THREE brothers have been using their initiative to help raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Henry, nine, Archie, seven and Charlie, who is six on Friday, have set up a stall outside their family home in Harome selling apples.

Their mum Lynn, said they always had a good harvest of apples and the boys had suggested selling them for charity.

"We have been to a number of game fairs and to the military display at Scarborough recently and they wanted to know for Help for Heroes did," she added.

"When we explained the work of the charity they decided they wanted to support it and set up the stall at the front of the house."

Lynn said the boy, who are all pupils at Kirkbymoorside Primary School, had also been selling kindling and fruit and vegetables donated by neighbours.

"Quite few people have stopped when they have seen them and bought the apples," she added.

"They are going to carry on for a couple of weeks before handing the money over. We are very proud of them and that particularly that they are not doing it for themselves."
