BISHOP Burton College student Harriet Clark, 19, has been named as the first Farmers’ Guardian Agriculture Student of the Year.
Harriet was the only finalist to come from the North of England, and she was also the only female in the final five entrants.
She took the title after presenting to a panel made up of representatives from Farmers Guardian, AgriVenture and the former chairman of NFYFC personal development steering group, she was chosen as the winner.
Harriet, who comes from Nottinghamshire but lives in Beverley during term time, is currently taking a foundation degree in agriculture at Bishop Burton College and will now spend 12 months in Australia thanks to rural work placement organisation AgriVenture, who sponsored the competition and donated the prize.
