THERE were four bundles of joy for one Kirkbymoorside farm recently when quadruplet lambs were born.

The quads were born at Wythes Farm on April 6, their birth coinciding with the birthday of farm owner Doreen Curtis.

Mrs Curtis's daughter Vicky Griffiths said it was fairly uncommon for quads to be born, but rarer still for them all to survive.

She said: "It doesn't happen every year but we have had some before.

"These were quite special because the lambs were a really good size and all survived.

"They are still surviving but it was challenging for the sheep to feed all of them so, two weeks on, two of them are being bottle fed."

She added that the lambs had been named "Bella, Teeny Weeny, Kevin and Stuart" by Mrs Curtis's grandchildren.
