A FARNDALE photographer's shot of sheep filing through the snow in the North York Moors has won a national competition.
Richard Smith, 29, took the picture, entitled "Single File Please", on his father-in-law's farm in Farndale in the North York Moors National Park.
The shot has now been declared winner of the The Prince's Countryside Fund's Christmas in the Countryside photo competition.
Mr Smith said: "It was the depths of winter on the family farm in High Farndale.
"The flock was making its way to the gate to meet the farmers call for their afternoon feed. Luckily I had my camera to hand as the sheep looked to queue up accordingly in a typically British fashion."
For his win, Mr Smith will receive four packs of the Christmas card featuring the image, as well as a special Christmas gift.
The charity the Prince's Countryside Fund was established in 2010 by HRH The Prince of Wales. It aims to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life, as well as celebrating and promoting the value of the countryside.
