A TRACTOR run has raised just over £3,000 for Ryedale and Driffield Stroke Support Groups.

Paul and Helen Hudson, from Rillington, organised the Wolds Valley Tractor Run, with 97 tractors taking part in the circular 32-mile route from Wintringham.

The couple have organised the tractor runs for the past four years to raise money for causes that have affected their family and friends lives.

Mr Hudson said: "We were very pleased by the turn-out and support of so many people on the day and it was such a good day the route was planned to make the most of the stunning scenery which we all enjoyed and at the same time we were raising a huge amount of much needed money for these two local groups who support people affected by stroke."

Pat Thompson, of Ryedale Stroke Group, said: "On behalf of our members I would like to thank Paul and Helen for all their hard work in organising such a successful event to raise funds for both groups and it is much appreciated."

Janet Jefferson, of Driffield Stroke Support Group, said: "It is so important to keep awareness of the life-changing effects stroke can have on people's lives of all ages and events like this do that so well.

"Congratulations to Paul and Helen Hudson and all the people who gave their time to help and also for all the generous donations."
