SEVERAL farms across Ryedale will throw open the gates to their yards as they take part in a nationwide open farm day.
The 10th Open Farm Sunday will give the public a chance to find out more about local farms and where their food comes from.
Visitors on Sunday, June 7 will be able to get up close to some of the animals and take a guided tour.
Farms participating include Sparrow Hall Farm, Salton and Coulton Mill Farm, Hovingham.
High Farndale, Long Causeway, Farndale, is open by appointment only and full details of how to make an appointment are available on the website, farmsunday.org
Peter Mawson, of High Farndale, said: "We hope to welcome people to enjoy a walking tour of the farm. We can talk about what we do, answer any questions and hopefully give people a good idea and a real understanding about life on the farm."
