THERE were record-breaking crowds at this year's Horse & Pony Fun Day at the Thornton-le-Dale Spring Gala.
More than 140 equestrian competitors attended the event, with a large array of different prizes and rosettes up for grabs.
The title in the supreme championship went to Beth Porter and her horse Dennis. The overall champion won a sash, a trophy and an A3 mounted and framed picture from sponsors Country Pursuit Images.
The show, held at the Showfield last Sunday, is known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere and "is great for first timers or novices".
Billed as a great day out for all the family, the day provide "classes for everyone, from tiny tots to showjumping".
