A BUMPER crowd flocked to Duncombe Park in Helmsley on Sunday for the Valentine's Day point-to-point on behalf of the Sinnington Hunt.

The day consisted of seven races, with the action kicking off at 12.30pm and the last race starting at 3.30pm.

Margaret Rooke, secretary of the point-to-point, said: "It was a fantastic day, really good. We had a lovely winter's day and a bumper crowd, so we were very happy."

The first race was the Hunt Members' race, which was won by Will Easterby on Things Change, followed by Nobuttaboy ridden by John Dawson and John Dillon ridden by Henry Morshead.

This was followed by the Confined race, which was won by Will Milburn on Six-a-Side in impressive fashion, with Richard Smith on Code Blue in second and Will Easterby in third on Sportingfriendship.

The third race, the Subaru Restricted, was again won by Will Easterby, this time on Greensalt. Jack Teal followed on Mickey Miller and third place went to Richard Smith on According To Dan.

John Dawson riding Robbie won the mixed open, sponsored by Aga. Will Easterby claimed a fourth top-three finish on Camden and Max Johnson was third on Lucky Cody.

The fifth race was the PPORA Club Members Veteran and Novice Riders. This was won by Christy Furness on Shantou Prince, backing up his recent Sheriff Hutton win. Amy Collier was second on Tasheba followed by Harry Reed on Mister Splodge.

The penultimate race was the Open Maiden Division 1, which was won by Elliott Brookbanks at 9-1 on Fairy Mix. Emma Todd was second on Cloghouge Boy with Henry Morshead in third on Moscanisi.

In the Open Maiden Division 2, the final race of the day, Will Milburn claimed a second victory, this time on Bedford Forrest at 6-1. Max Johnson followed on Zandino, with Jack Teal coming third on Ballybough Best.
