FRIARS Hill Stables has been chosen to roll out a pilot scheme by the British Horse Society called the “Essential Horse Knowledge Certificate”, replacing the Horse Owner’s Certificate, which will be obsolete at the end of this year.

Elements of Essential Horse Knowledge can be used as modules against British Horse Society stage one exam. The courses will be approximately six weeks and there are two levels. The first level will be the entry level, the second level will be level one.

Friars Hill will be starting with the entry level course.

The course is free of charge.

Saturday sessions will run from 2pm until 3.30pm on May 2, 9 and 30 and on June 6, 13 and 20. The test will be on June 27.

Monday sessions will run from 6pm to 7.30pm on May 4, 11 and 18 (May 25 tbc) and June 1 and 8 (June 15 tbc): the test date will be given nearer to the time.
