The Middleton Hunt branch of the pony club hosted a day of some spectacular showjumping rounds at Bishop Burton last weekend, which also included the first round of the winter Dengie qualifier.

Carole Taylor, from Malton, riding her gelding, Jack, took the honours in the 75cms, just beating Miki Crossley to the post in the large class.

Harriet Lyon, from Welburn, was keeping her winning streak up on her veteran 20-year-old mare, Tilly.

Harriet, who is a member of the Middleton Pony Club and Malton Riding Club, is keeping up her preparations in readiness for her debut as part of a team at the national riding clubs championships, at Hartpury, at the beginning of April, where her and her team mates will be going for gold after winning the area four riding clubs qualifier.

Edward Bradley and his mount, Jimmy, were in fine form, finishing second in the 85cms and then going one better to win the Dengie first round qualifier with a speedy faultless round.
