FOLLOWING a successful debut year, the manufacturers of nutrient rich Horslyx have launched their second ambassador scheme.

Eight amateur riders will represent the brand at events, competitions and online this year.

One of the successful applicants is local rider and livery yard owner, Cara Shardlow, from Sneatonthorpe near Whitby.

As a Horslyx ambassador during the scheme’s debut year, 37-year-old Cara fused personal and professional success last year.

As well as getting married, teacher and livery yard owner Cara attended her first BD National championships, achieved her highest placings at regional level, won at the Home International and the area festival and then crowned the year by giving her homebred horse, Detonator II, its first attempt at a Prix St George competition.

Cara said: “2015 has a lot to live up to.”

The Horslyx ambassador scheme is open to riders competing in any discipline, with seven to be chosen aged 16 or over, and one place awarded to a rider under 16.

Each ambassador will receive branded clothing and equestrian equipment, a supply of Horslyx to last the year and nutritional support whenever necessary.

Nick Mackley, Horslyx sales manager, is delighted to have Cara on board.

He said: “Cara had an incredible year in 2014, and we have no doubt that 2015 will be equally as exciting, especially with such a strong team of five horses under her management.

“We are very excited to have her as one of our 2015 Ambassadors.”

Cara said: “It’s going to give me huge piece of mind that I have the support of Horslyx for the year and that all the horses will be getting the vitamins and minerals that they need from their licks to keep them healthy and fit to compete, especially Rhythmic Times with the help of his Mobility Horslyx.”

Cara is fresh back from the Winter regional’s at Bishop Burton where she finished third in the medium freestyle to music on Detonator II, a first place in the advanced medium restricted with more than 70 per cent, which qualifies her for the championships at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire in April, along with a fourth in the advanced medium freestyle.

Cara also had a sixth place in the advanced medium with her other horse, Rhythmic Times.

She said: “The horses tried so hard this weekend and am thrilled to bits with them.”

All eight ambassadors have an exciting year ahead of them. You can follow their progress at horslyx.com and on Facebook.
