KATIE Stephens-Grandy is on flying form at the moment with her home-produced Hey Mr Sandman.
Katie, from West Heslerton, put Mr Sandman slowly through the British Eventing 90 classes last year and this year moved him up to the BE 100 classes with numerous placings.
Skipton horse trials announced that it would be awarding an accumulator prize of £250 to the highest-placed combination over the two events that they run in the year, the first was in June and the second one in August.
Katie and Hey Mr Sandman finished on just their dressage score at the June event putting them in third place and this time again, finishing on their dressage score, but in ninth place, gave them the highest combination points over the two events.
Katie, who gives much of the credit to her trainer, Chris McGrann, was thrilled to be awarded the accumulator and said: “Mr Sandman is such a star.”
The pair have competed in six BE events this year and finished in the top 10 at five of them.
