ROSEDALE Abbey Primary School has joined forces with Nawton Primary School to form an equestrian team for the National School Equestrian Association (NSEA) Competition.
It is the schools’ first-ever equestrian team and is comprised of Pippa Jean Brown, her younger brother, William, from Nawton Primary School, and Jake Gibson, from Rosedale Abbey Primary School, under the guidance of team manager Ian Brown.
Their first competition was at Northallerton Equestrian Centre on February 23, where they took top honours in the 70cm team competition qualifying for the NSEA championship show in October at Addington Manor, in Buckinghamshire.
Jake Gibson, riding Freddie from Rosedale Abbey Primary School, also took first place in the individuals with team mate Pippa Jean Brown, riding Amy Rose, taking second. Both qualified as individuals, with team mate William riding Sox, coming sixth.
The team’s fourth member Annabelle Beckett is hoping to compete in future dressage qualifiers along with her jumping team mates.
