WORLD class event rider Nicola Wilson began riding at the age of three and went on to fulfil her dreams as part of Great Britain’s silver medal winning eventing team at the London Olympics in 2012.

Like many riders Nicola, based in Northallerton, began her equestrian career by progressing through the ranks of the Pony Club, representing teams at mounted games, showjumping, tetrathlon and eventing.

It was during her years in the Pony Club that Nicola learned valuable lessons in teamwork and how to sit tight in the saddle during difficult situations. She also realised the importance of rider fitness and how it would benefit her eventing career.

Nicola has made time in her busy schedule, preparing her horses for the forthcoming British Eventing season, to put local riders through their paces in two clinics being hosted by Malton and District Riding Club during April.

The clinics are to take place on April 2 and 16. Lessons will be for groups of three riders for a one-anda- half-hour session at Manor Farm, Thornthorpe, with a warm-up on the flat followed by jumping. Priority for places will be given to Malton Riding Club members.
