POLICE are appealing for information after an act of criminal damage in a North Yorkshire town.
Vandals stuck images of a highlighter and marker pen to the wall before spray painting lines above them on a wall of the Great Goth Shop, Silver Street, Whitby.
The vandalism happened between 5.30pm on Sunday, April 28, and 9.30am on Monday, April 29.
PC Matthew Rogers, of Whitby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Graffiti such as this, causes the owners of vandalised properties inconvenience and expense to have it removed.
“If you have any information which could help to identify those responsible for this pointless act of criminal damage, I urge you to contact the police straight away.”
Anyone who can help with this inquiry should phone Whitby police on 101, select option 2, and ask for PC Rogers.
Alternatively, information can be emailed to matthew.rogers@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
