THERE were no arrests made during King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort’s, visit to Malton this week, police have confirmed.

The royals visited Malton on Wednesday before travelling to York on Thursday for the Royal Maundy service at York Minster.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “This two-day operation has involved several of the force's specialist departments. These include the roads policing group, the dog section, the armed response unit and the operational support unit.

“The operation was successful and no arrests were made in connection with the visit in Malton or York.”

During the visits, a number of roads were closed to allow the royal convoy to pass and to ensure the safety of spectators – this included Yorkersgate in Malton.
