A FOOTBALL club in Ryedale is celebrating its 100th anniversary – and is asking past players to come forward and share their memories at the club.

Heslerton Football Club turns 100 this year, after first launching in July 1923.

A newspaper clipping from the Driffield Times shows the club’s first match to Sherburn on November 10, 1923.

To mark the occasion, the club is urging past players of the club to come forward and share memories of their playing days.

This anniversary is due to coincide with the club’s annual family fun day, which last year raised £2,265 – with £500 donated to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
