FULFORD Ladies Invitation Tennis League leaders York continue to look invincible after battering Starbeck 86-22 to remain top of division one.

Second-placed Wetherby are two points behind after pasting Dunnington 81-27. Yvonne Mannall and Lucy Wright included two 12-0 wins for Wetherby, who did not drop a rubber.

Wigginton stayed in touch after dispatching David Lloyd, while Pocklington eased past Fulford 64-44.

Appleton Roebuck are off the mark in division four after a 67-41 win over Bubwith.

Rufforth top division five after overcoming Riccall 57-51 despite a valiant effort from Riccall’s mother-daughter pairing of Cynthia and Steff Jackson, who were the weekend’s top scorers with 33 games.

A solid team effort helped New Earswick beat Poppleton 2 65-43 while Cawood got off the mark, pipping Copmanthorpe 55-53.

In division six, Liz Paxman and Veronique Knighton bagged 27 games in Fulford's 72-36 win over Stamford Bridge.

York had a closer victory over Poppleton, 59-49, to ensure all three York teams in the league remain unbeaten.

Wilberfoss top division seven. Liz Walker and Andrea Webster won all their rubbers to guide them to a 61-47 win over Copmanthorpe.
