FRANKIE MARSH and Helen Whilesmith bagged 25 games to see Pocklington to their first win of this Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League division one season.

Their 62-46 win at Dunnington moves them clear of the bottom of the table.

Starbeck prop up the division after they went down 49-59 to Wigginton, who seem to be successfully tweaking their partnerships to maximum effect.

York stay in pole position, with Louise Marshman and Wendy Stirke netting 30 games in their comfortable win at Wetherby, while Fulford overtook David Lloyd after defeating them 64-44.

York 2 and David Lloyd 2 remain unbeaten in division two. Emma Waters and Claire Kershaw were undefeated for York as they hammered Wetherby 76-32 while Joy Craig and Jo Denton racked up 21 games as Lloyd beat Boston Spa 62-46.

Fulford 2 and Rufforth recorded wins against Wistow and Bishopthorpe respectively to climb to mid-table positions.

Jo Earl and Liz Bramley won all their rubbers for division three leaders Cliffe as they saw off Bishopthorpe 2 68-40.

Poppleton hold second spot after scraping a narrow 55-53 victory at Tollerton, with Rosie Cantrell and Rosie Somerton chipping in with 26 games to edge Pop home. Knaresborough took the points against Boston Spa 2 by the same scoreline.

Amanda Robson and Laura Simpson were the top scorers for Copmanthorpe as they cruised to a 70-38 win against Wigginton 2.

Rufforth 2 lead division five after a 61-47 triumph at Cawood. Elsewhere, Sara Grinnell and Rachel Booth top scored for Dunnington 2 as they hammered Riccall and consistent scores from all three New Earswick couples saw them edge a 58-50 victory against Copmanthorpe 2.

Ros Murdoch and Linda Parkin bagged 25 games as division six leaders Knaresborough 2 defeated Stamford Bridge, while York 3 logged a first win against Sheriff Hutton.

The top two went head to head in division seven. Karen Pratt and Sarah Colmer were unbeaten for Wilberfoss 2 as they defeated leaders Rufforth 3. Copmanthorpe 3 prop up the table after going down 46-62 to Dunnington 3.
