Malton & Norton Golf Club won the Flamborough & District Golf Alliance’s Amanda Clare Trophy at Driffield GC.

Malt came first with a team aggregate of 341 points. Scarborough North Cliff carded 346 and Driffield 347. The best pairs score of 62 on the day was returned by Malt’s Brian Dunning and Steve Laws.

Malton also moved eight shots clear of second-placed Scarborough North Cliff after the second round of the Scarborough District Golf Association tournament Starting the day five shots behind the leaders, Malton’s four pairings returned an aggregate total of 288 – 30 under par – on their home course. Paul Harper and Eddie Ruddock had the best score of the day with 63, Danny Williamson and Ian Johnson carded 64, John Preston and Matt Hazell shot 65, and Richard Brown and Phil Hart shot 66.

After the East Riding Alliance second round played at Kirbymoorside, Malton are in joint-10th place alongside Driffield with 274 points. Hessle lead with 264.

After the fourth round of the York Union Cross Trophy, Malton are in third place with 789 points. Leading with 775 are Heworth, followed by Sandburn Hall on 779.
