RYEDALE School had three of the top four boys in the Year 7 boys’ race at the Scarborough & District cross country event at Caedmon School, Whitby, to win the team trophy by a landslide.
A fiercely competitive race at the front saw Maurice Calton-Seal pip Nathan Smith for first place in the final 100 metres. Callum Harrison finished fourth.
Tyler Hutchinson won the Year 8 boys’ race, while other excellent performances by Ryedale School pupils came from Guy Harris, who was fourth in the Year 9 boys’ race, and Jade Hutchinson, who was second in the Year 10/11 girls’ race.
In addition to the Year 7 boys, Ryedale School also had team triumph at Year 8 boys and Year 8 girls level, while their Year 9 boys, Year 10/11 boys, Year 7 girls, Year 9 girls and Year 10/11 girls all finished third.
