YORK City Academy’s FA Youth Cup third qualifying round tie tomorrow night (7pm) at home to Chester will be live streamed for free.

A limited-capacity crowd was permitted for the fixture but the club, citing safety reasons, has chosen to stage the match at Bootham Crescent behind closed doors.

The club said in a statement: “We’re aware that a limited capacity crowd is allowed for the game. However, based on the most recent government restrictions and guidelines and with the safety of our players, fans and staff as our top priority, we will play this game behind closed doors.”

Tim Ryan’s team have worked their way past the preliminary, first qualifying and second qualifying rounds in style, notching 12 goals in three away fixtures. They have beaten Tadcaster Albion 4-1, Cleethorpes Town 5-0 and Stocksbridge Park Steels 3-1.

Also plying their trade in the National League Academy North ‘D’, Chester may present York’s sternest test yet. They have seen off Abbey Hey 2-0, Vauxhall Motors 11-0 and St Helens Town 4-0.
