KIRKBYMOORSIDE Reserves returned to the top of the newitts.com Beckett Football League division one after hammering Sherburn 5-1.
Kirkby were immediately on the front foot and Paul Downes got the scoring underway after slotting home a pass from the impressive Tony Barnett.
Then, Jason Brown and Josh Butler combined for the latter to finish a fantastic team move. Downes grabbed his second of the match after meeting a great Butler delivery.
Kirkby came out in the second half and immediately put the game to bed - Brown racing to the byline and laying Downes’ hat-trick strike on a plate. Brown then turned scorer when finishing a Shaun Smith free-kick. Sherburn got a consolation goal through Carl Hepples.
Elsewhere, in the division, Sinnington drew 1-1 with Rosedale.
Meanwhile, in division two, newcomers Rillington Rovers won their first game of the season after edging past Ryedale Sports Club Reserves 2-1 while Duncombe Park Reserves smashed Heslerton 7-2.
Norton United vs Thornton-le-Dale Reserves and Whitby Fishermen Society Academy vs Goldsborough both ended in 3-3 draws. Amotherby & Swinton vs Ayton also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
In the Ryedale Hospital Cup, Thornton-le-Dale thrashed Bagby & Balk 6-1.
