YORK City Knights will open their 2020 Betfred Championship campaign with a trip to Toulouse Olympique.

The Knights, beaten at Toulouse in the 2019 Championship play-offs, will be the first visitors to the French side’s new Stade Ernest Wallon home on Saturday, February 1.

Coach James Ford and his squad launch their home campaign on Sunday, February 8 against Bradford Bulls.

The previously announced double-header on Sunday, March 22 will see Featherstone Rovers travel to the new Community Stadium, preceding the Betfred Super League Fixture between Sonny Bill Williams’ Toronto Wolfpack and Wakefield Trinity.

York take on ex-Super League club London Broncos at home in found five, with the return trip scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 18, the day after the Coral Challenge Cup final at Wembley.

If the Knights reach the 1895 Cup final at Wembley, the trip to Broncos will take place on Sunday, July 26.

Newly-promoted League One champions Whitehaven will travel to York on Good Friday, with Oldham making the trip in round 14, on Sunday, May 24.

As confirmed last week, York take on Halifax in the Summer Bash in Blackpool on Saturday, May 30, at 5.15pm.

Toulouse will visit the Community Stadium on Saturday, June 20, and the last visitors of the regular season will be Batley Bulldogs on Sunday, September 6.

Coach Ford said: “I’m pleased with how the fixtures have fallen.

“Toulouse away in round one couldn’t get much tougher for us but we will be ready.

“Toulouse are a fantastic side who pipped us twice in the league last season.

“We’re fully aware of the challenge they pose and we’re looking forward to testing ourselves against one of the favourites for promotion.

“The fixtures certainly will provide our supporters lots of excitement.

“With our move into the new Community Stadium on the horizon it is a great time to support this club, and hopefully the fans can replicate that fantastic Bootham Crescent atmosphere in the new place.

“We’re excited by the challenge.”

Meanwhile, Golden Point Extra Time will be available in all Betfred Championship and League One fixtures next season.

When a game is level at the final hooter, each team will take one point for earning a draw – with a third competition point then made available to the first team to score in two five-minute periods of extra time.
