CITY of York Hockey Club Men I remain bottom of the North League premier division following an 11-1 defeat at North Yorkshire rivals Harrogate I.

Mike Carter got York's only goal as they suffered a fifth defeat from five.

City of York II were narrowly beaten 3-2 by east division three south table-toppers Hull I.

The visitors started brightly and York keeper Jonathan Doyle in the York goal was called upon to make some important early saves.

York took the lead through James Fitton, who slotted home from David Clamp's brilliant aerial ball out of defence.

Hull equalised from an aerial ball of their own and took the lead soon after, but Dan Ellwood put York back on level terms with an excellent deflection into the top corner.

The second half was as frantic as the first and Hull got the winner with 10 minutes left with a shot from the top of the 'D' following a string of short corners.

City of York VII beat Bingley Bees 4-3 at home. Chris Allerton, Emil Waites , Andy Forman and Josh Perryman scored.

Neil Reader scored a brace as City of York VIII won 4-0 at Harrogate VI. Harvey Ake and Tony Brimble were also on target.

City of York IX lost 9-0 at home to Scarborough II.

Nathan Ridsdale, Niamh Clements, Fraser Rigby and Murphy Riddell all scored for City of York X in their 4-0 win at Slazengers in Men's Development north division.

City of York Ladies I remain unbeaten in North Women's league division one following a 4-1 win at Stokesley I.

The visitors started strongly with some good transfers around the back and some quick passes.

Katie Ramli opened the scoring for York after she was played in by Charlotte Tuplin, who showed good skill to get forward.

York continued their attacking advance, winning some well-worked free hits and penalty corners. Heather MacDonald collected a wide pass at the top of the ā€˜Dā€™ and finished fantastically.

Ramli netted a second to put York three up at the break after good work from Ali Couttie, who manoeuvred around two Stokesley players and played a great ball to the top of the 'D'.

York started the second half strongly and peppered the Stokesley defence with well-timed attacking runs, though Stokesley pulled one back from a counter-attack.

As the end of the match drew closer, York broke away and Celia Wright finished off a perfectly-weighted ball across the 'D'.

Yorkshire Women's League leaders City of York Ladies II beat Pocklington 1-0 thanks to Sarah Rodgers' strike.

At the other end of the table, 11th-placed City of York Ladies III lost 2-0 at Hull II.

City of York Ladies IV earned their first win of the division two season by beating Huddersfield Dragons II 3-0. Rachel Hildreth, Lucy Tate and Nicola Winter were on target.

City of York Ladies VI lost 4-0 at local rivals Tadcaster Magnets II in division five north.

City of York Under-12 Girls played their second week in Yorkshire Youth League. In division one, the 'A' team finished top, while the 'B' team narrowly dodged relegation. The 'C' teams finished second in division four and the 'D' team earned their second promotion in as many weeks, now moving up to division five.

Acomb Hockey Club Men I handed hosts Rotherham II a 13-0 thrashing in Yorkshire League division one.

The win moves Acomb sixth and makes them the second-top scorers in the division after leaders Scarborough I.

Within three minutes, the Tangerines were two up through a Matt Dickenson brace, which turned to a hat-trick by the quarter-hour mark.

Against their depleted hosts, Acomb played the ball around nicely and made it seven by the break thanks to strikes from Nick Linfoot, the returning Ryan Smith, James Tindall and Pete Greenwood.

It was more of the same in the second half. Dickenson netted a further four, with three coming from penalty corners, man-of-the-match Greenwood got a second and Dave Richardson completed the rout in the final minutes.

Acomb II fell to a 1-0 defeat at Ben Rhydding V in division four north.

The home defence held firm against good Tangerine pressure while, in the second half, the keeper excelled.

Acomb shot-stopper Andy Richardson was a passenger as Acomb continued to dominate, though they could not find the right final ball.

And the hosts broke the deadlock midway through the second half when a loose ball was nudged home from the Acomb 'D'.

Struggling Acomb Ladies remain rooted at the foot of Yorkshire Women's League division one following a 7-1 defeat at third-placed Skipton.

At 4-0 down, Alex Wilson netted the Tangerines' first goal of the season with a penalty corner strike.
