YORK City assistant-manager Micky Cummins is confident the arrival of midfielder Kieran Green will not impact on a potential contract for Scott Burgess next term.

Fellow midfielder Burgess was offered a permanent deal after impressing on loan from Bury last term, but he has not committed yet.

Manager Steve Watson admitted the 21-year-old could be holding out to see if he had a place in a Shakers side which won promotion to League One this season - but he warned that Burgess could miss out on a deal if he did not put pen to paper before a similar-style player was found.

However, it seems Burgess remains in demand at Bootham Crescent as City look to make further additions.

Cummins said: "The offer's still there. He's probably gone away to think about it.

"He's a good player come from a team just promoted to League One.

"He's weighing up his options, as we are elsewhere.

"He's done well for us and we'd like for him to stay."
