PICKERING Town lost 3-1 to AFC Mansfield at Mill Lane last night leaving them uncomfortably close to the Evo-Stik League east division relegation zone.
A Keaton Ward brace and an Oliver Fearon penalty were enough to overturn Billy Logan's 11th-minute opener in the favour of fellow strugglers Mansfield.
The Pikes - who were leapfrogged by now 14th-placed Mansfield - drop a place to 16th and are separated from the drop zone by just two points.
Ryan Blott was denied a goal within a minute of the game starting as stopper Jason White did well to keep out his header and Logan had a second-half finish ruled out for offside.
Bulls debutant Ward levelled contentiously in the first half with Pikes fans calling for offside, and his 94th-minute second put the gloss on the win for Mansfield.
