YORKSHIRE have appointed former player Paul Grayson as their new specialist batting coach.

Grayson, an ex-England one-day international and formerly the head coach of Essex, has been on the White Rose county’s staff for the last two years as the coach of the Yorkshire Diamonds women.

He will relinquish his duties with them and also as head of cricket at Durham University.

Ripon-born Grayson started his career with Yorkshire and played first-team cricket in the mid 1990s.

The 47-year-old will begin his new full-time role at Emerald Headingley on March 1 and will travel to Potchefstroom for Yorkshire’s pre-season training camp later in the month.
