Yorkshire are on the verge of Division One safety after taking four afternoon wickets against Worcestershire at New Road, with the hosts reaching tea on day one at 179-5.
Already relegated Worcester resumed on 82-1 after lunch at the start of this Specsavers County Championship match.
Captain Steve Patterson, Jack Brooks twice and Ben Coad all struck after lunch, with Patterson getting opposite number Moeen Ali caught at first slip for 60.
Moeen fell having top-edged a pull as the score fell to 131-2 in the 42nd over.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore has taken two catches at first slip, later helping Coad remove Alex Milton. Sandwiched in between, Brooks bowled Joe Clarke.
Worcester slipped from 131-1 in the 42nd over to 167-5 in the 60th over, with the fifth wicket going to Brooks - Ben Cox lbw.
Yorkshire just need one more wicket to clinch the point they need to avoid relegation.
Daryl Mitchell is unbeaten on 71 and Ed Barnard 5.
