Worcestershire have confidently advanced to 82-1 at lunch on day one of the season-ending Specsavers County Championship match against Yorkshire at New Road.

Steve Patterson opted to bowl following an uncontested toss, and Tim Bresnan claimed the only wicket to fall on a sluggish surface - Tom Fell caught at third slip by Jack Leaning.

Leaning is one of two changes to the Yorkshire team alongside left-arm spinner James Logan, who is debuting. Harry Brook and Matthew Waite have made way.

Yorkshire are chasing two points to secure their Division One future, so six wickets today would do the trick.

Logan has bowled three overs for 18, with Moeen hitting him for two leg-side sixes and a four in 34 not out. Daryl Mitchell has 28, with the pair having shared 53 unbroken for the second wicket.
