GREG CHADWICK and Harry Holden put Heslerton to the sword in division 'A' of the Andy Hire Scarborough Evening League.

Heslerton scored a decent 125-3 when they took first knock at Seamer 'A', with Kristian Wilkinson making 58 and Stuart Pickard 49.

However, Chadwick and Holden shared an unbroken stand of 101 runs to win the game for the hosts.

A half-century by C Sanderson (55) set up Sherburn's victory over Flixton, while a half-century by Lindon Gray (50), after he had taken 4-16 in the first innings, took champions Staxton to a six-wicket win over Ebberston 'A', who had earlier made 108-7 through M Horsley (34) and D Readman (24).

Paul Virr made 60 as Cloughton 'A' totalled 126-6 in a 36-run win over Scarborough in division 'B'.

Ian Cousins' 59 likewise took Ganton to a winning 159-3 against Ebberston 'B', who were held to 77-5 in reply.

Aussie recruit Nick Strangio and Kieran Glave were Cayton 'A's match-winners at Forge Valley 'A'.

Strangio's knock of 69 took Cayton to 127-5, with the hosts ending their reply on 116-5 as Glave took a crucial 4-8.

Cayton 'B' also beat Forge Valley 'B' by five wickets in division 'C', thanks in part to T Davies (4-18) helping to restrict the visitors to 70-8.

Andy Dove (69) and Mark Dove (38) set up a big 76-run win for Staxton 'B' as their side totalled 164-4.

Good bowling by S Wardman (3-5) and C Remmer (3-6) set up Wykeham 'B's win over Cloughton 'B', who limped to 47-8, while Wykeham 'C's bowlers also did the trick against Snainton, bowling them out for just 39.
