The race for the play-offs in Evo-Stik League division one north took another turn in midweek as Scarborough Athletic’s rivals, Bamber Bridge and Spennymoor Town, both won.
The former, with whom Boro drew 0-0 last Saturday, won at Ossett Town to go above the Seadogs into fourth, while Spennymoor beat Farsley to move within a point of the top five with two games in hand over the North Yorkshire side.
Darlington also beat Lancaster to go back to the summit on points-difference.
Those results put more pressure on Scarborough to beat lowly Radcliffe Borough tomorrow.
Mid-table Harrogate Railway, meanwhile, host bottom team Padiham.
Neighbours Harrogate Town - for whom ex-York City midfielder Paddy McLaughlin enjoyed a winning debut on loan from Grimsby last Saturday - have a similar contest afoot in Conference North as they host Hyde, who are cast adrift at the foot of the table.
