CHAMPIONS Malton ‘A’ opened the new York Conservative Clubs’ Carlsberg UK Snooker League campaign with a 6-1 win at Bootham ‘B’.
The star man was Lee Taylor with a 58 break, and he could have made more but jumped the white over the black to foul when in a good position.
The other Malton winners were Dominic Spiteri, Roger Ward, Phil Hart, Steve Beal and Simon Weatherill (25 break). Matt Smith was the only success for Bootham.
Heworth ‘A’, last year’s runners-up, beat Fulford ‘A’ 5-2, with Clive Whyte setting an early Pasema Paving highest break target with 68.
