A SCHOOL in Ryedale has been rated ‘excellent’ by education inspectors.
Terrington Hall School was awarded the highest possible grading for the pupils’ academic and other achievements and the quality of their personal development in the inspection carried out by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
The report described the pupils as enthusiastic and highly engaged learners, making strong academic and non-academic progress.
Stephen Mulryne, head teacher, said: “This is far and away the best inspection reports the school has ever received and reflects the excellent quality of the all-round education provided by Terrington Hall’s dedicated team of staff.
“It is especially pleasing to note that the report recognises our efforts to do the very best by every child, developing, supporting and challenging each of them to be the best that they can be, not only in academia but across all areas of life.”
The report adds that pupils of all abilities achieve very well in their entrance examinations to senior schools, and this reflects the excellent individual attention in their small classes.
Mr Mulryne added: “Where the inspection report found areas on which we should focus, immediate action has been taken to remedy the situation to ensure that all compliance standards are met.”
