A MAN has been taken to hospital after a car crash in the early hours of yesterday (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Pickering and Malton were called to reports of a car on fire in Kirby Misperton Road, Kirby Misperton, just before 4am.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said: “On arrival, they discovered a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Ford Fusion.

“One male was out of the vehicle on our arrival. Crew administered first aid until the arrival of ambulance.

“Crews also extinguished the fire to the car which caused 100 per cent fire damage to the vehicle. One male taken to hospital with chest, arm and internal injuries.”

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police added: “We attended the scene at 3.55am. The Ford Fusion was recovered and the road re-opened around 7.30am.”
