AN artist is working with pupils to produce a exhibition to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.
Rosie Goodwin, who runs MakeMore ARTS, has been awarded a National Lottery grant to run “Poppies in Peace”, which will celebrate the stories of men who returned to Ryedale from conflict. Workshops are already under way at Pickering Junior School and St Joseph’s Primary School, as well as schools in Gillamoor, Sinnington and Thornton-le-Dale.
An exhibition at Beck Isle Museum will feature artwork from all 500 youngsters this November, to coincide with the centenary.
Rosie will also beat Pickering library on Saturday, from 10am to 2 pm, running drop-in sessions for anyone who would like to share their own stories.
