POLICE are appealing for information after a car was damaged by another vehicle which failed to stop.
The white Mazda Two was hit at around 5.50pm on Sunday, October 19, on Pottergate, Helmsley, near to the junction with Ryegate.
As a result of the collision the car sustained extensive damage to its rear nearside wing.
PC Paul Fenwick, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you are the driver of the vehicle which did not stop, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet contact the police, and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
PC Fenwick added: “If you work in a body repair shop and are asked to carry out work on a vehicle with damage to its bodywork, please contact me straight away.”
