BUSINESSES in Helmsley are working together to create an egg-citing Easter activity for families.
An Easter Egg trail will run from Monday, April 14 to Easter Monday, 21 beginning at Hunters of Helmsley in the town’s Market Place.
Trail maps can be bought for £1, which will take visitors on an interesting tour of around 20 shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels and attractions taking part. They will be asked to return to Hunters to vote for their favourite, where they will also receive some special Easter treats.
The eggs on the trail will vary from those made of chocolate or cake, to those decorated with gems and all manner of arts and crafts.
Funds raised will go towards buying Christmas lights for the town.
Christine Garnett, who co-owns Hunters of Helmsley and is organising the trail on behalf of Helmsley in Business, said: “It’s great that so many businesses are taking part, it will be something really fun to do for people visiting our beautiful town this Easter.
"It’s a lovely time of year to come to Helmsley – the daffodils are out in force, and the sun is, hopefully, shining, and everywhere looks so colourful. Christine added: "There’s lots of Easter treats in town and plenty to do to keep the whole family entertained, including our historic castle, the International Centre for Birds of Prey, the Walled Gardens and of course, shops, food and drink aplenty!”
