TESCO is recalling four flavours of fruit drink due to the risk of the bottles exploding.
The supermarket has apologised and issued an urgent recall for the four flavours of its Finest Fruit Presse, warning that yeast in the bottles could cause the drink to ferment.
The bottles affected are:
- Tesco Finest Sparkling Valencia Orange & Passion Fruit Presse
- Finest Sicilian Lemon & Mint Presse
- Finest Raspberry & Pomegranate Presse
- Finest Apple & Elderflower Presse
The problem affects all batches with an expiry date of March 2020.
The presence of yeast in the bottles means the sweet drinks could ferment and expand, causing the bottles to explode and cause injury.
A Tesco statement said: “The products potentially present a risk to health because they have fermented and as a result pressure may have built up in the bottles which could cause them to explode.
“If you have bought the above products do not drink them. Instead, return them to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
