I WAS concerned about being labelled an ‘extremist’ by a correspondent in the Gazette & Herald (October 3) just because I am not in favour of the proposed badger cull.

People who know me would not think of me as an extremist; others with similar views to mine are mostly gentle and mild-mannered and would certainly not resort to extremist tactics of any kind.

I have considered both sides of the argument and know that there are scientists and some from farming communities who are against the cull. If the cull happens, then so be it. The Government and the NFU are a powerful combination and difficult to resist.

However, voices in opposition will continue to be heard.
